10 September 2010 – Nowhere Boy (2009) Director – Sam Taylor-Wood, Cert (15), English. Award winning John Lennon biopic of his early life and family relationships. Two sisters, his aunt and mother tussle for his love, with tragedy striking which he would never escape.

8 October 2010 – The White Ribbon (2009) Director – Michael Haneke, Cert (15), German, Drama/Mystery. Winner of the Palme D’Or at Cannes. Children in an isolated village immediately before World War I begin to act in a brutal way, mirroring what is to come in the adult world.
12 November 2010 – Micmacs (2009) Director – Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Cert (12A), French, Crime comedy. An injured man teams up with a group of eccentrics to take revenge on weapons manufacturing companies who were responsible for his personal destruction.
Thur 9 December 2010 – Departures (2008) Director – Yojiro Takita, Cert (12A), Japanese, Comedy/Drama. Former concert cellist finds himself working in a funeral parlour and develops the art of “Nokanshi”, being a gatekeeper between life and death. Oscar winner of 2009 for Best Foreign Language Film.

Departures Let the Right One In
14 January 2011 – Let the Right One In (2008) Director – Thomas Alfredson, Cert (15), Swedish, Drama/Horror/Romance. Universally acclaimed tale of childhood friendship and vampirism. A boy who has been bullied enlists the help of unusual friends.
11 February 2011 – Metropolis (1927) Director – Fritz Lang, Cert (PG), German, Drama. Highly influential classic of Weimar German cinema with astonishing sets. Now with 25 minutes of lost footage in this latest extended version.
11 March 2011 – The Secret of their Eyes (2009) Director – Juan Jose Campanella, Cert (18), Argentinean, Crime/Drama/Mystery/Romance. Retired justice agent starts to write a novel based on a closed case he worked on, stirring up emotions from the past for all. Oscar winner of 2010 for Best Foreign Language Film.

Metroplolis Tulpan
8 April 2011 – The Concert (2009) Director – Radu Mihaileanu, Cert (U), French, Comedy. A once renown conductor of the Bolshoi orchestra accidentally gets the chance to gather together his former Jewish and Gypsy musicians for a special concert in Paris.
13 May 2011 – Tulpan (2008) Director – Sergei Dvortsevoy, Cert (12A), Kazakhstan, Comedy/Drama. A young boy returns to a harsh life on the Steppe after a spell in the Russian Navy, hoping to build a life for himself with Tulpan. Winner of BFI and Cannes Awards.
